It will be available on vinyl and CD and the first 100 will be signed. This is my first record as an actual band leader with some of the best musicians in the tri-state. I can’t wait to share it with you and the world.

Jason T Reddish -BIO
Drums/Piano
Jason’s very early interest in percussion started at the age of 6 and he started playing piano at age 8 and studying both instruments around 10 years of age. His earlier influences were Mitch Mitchell, Stewart Copeland, Simon Phillips and one of his first teacher’s, the legendary Kenwood Dennard (Woody).
He’s the son of horn player, the late Bill Reddish (who was called a monster by jazz writer Bill Milkowski in Milkowski’s biography of Jaco Pastorius). This gave Jason early exposure to great music – Coltrane, Parker, Ayler, Shepp, Coleman Hawkins, to name a few, who were Bill’s inspirations at the time (while Bill was playing tenor with the likes of most notably, Jaco Pastorius, War and a brief stint with Zappa throughout the 70’s. His band “The Reddish Fetish” was a staple at “The Image” in North Miami Beach and Jaco would sit in on bass.
Jason Reddish started playing the NYC scene at a very early age. Throughout the 80’s in high school he was already gigging at Lamour’s Brooklyn, CBGB’s, in the metal/punk scene with various acts such as Lady Killer and was eventually signed by Atlantic Records in the early 90’s with the band Scattered Few under his nick name Jay Red.
Jason continued his musical studies at the Drummer’s Collective NYC and exclusively with Professor Ralph Peterson Jr at Rutgers University. His musical influences varied from Bach to Bird and on drums he voraciously consumed the styles of Elvin Jones, Mark Giuliana, Dennis Chambers, Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, Papa Philly Joe Jones, Jeff Tain Watts and Max Roach (just to name a few). Ralph Peterson Jr. opened Jason up to the teachings of teacher and musician, Alan Dawson’s Rudimental Ritual.
In the late 90’s Reddish Co-Founded the NYC band Crambone and toured with singer songwriter Paul Wenzel as a member of the “Mourning Would” where they opened for various pop acts like Maroon 5, Phantom Planet, Ben Kweller, OK GO, Rusted Root and Duncan Sheik.
Jason is currently very active musically (and extremely versatile) working on various projects, primarily the Jazz Fusion project and Quartet “Fuse Patrol” which is a revisit to the great 70’s jazz fusion acts, IE. Weather Report, Return To Forever, Jean Luc Ponty with a modern twist; (this project morphed from the JAE Trio recordings and added the great Roy Suter on keyboards). He is also a regular on the drum throne with the Black Cats NYC (which has a loyal and dedicated following in the NYC Max’s Kansas City, CBGB’s scene which is still alive and thriving). He also recently teamed up with Paul Wenzel’s new “Wirehound” project. Both JAE Trio and Wirehound have recent releases. Fuse Patrol released “Barney’s Bounce in 2018 and The Black Cats NYS released a full length EP “Free Cake” in 2021. Paul Wenzel released “Sleep All Day” in 2020 which spans a 20 year history with Jason Reddish on drums and production.
Wirehound’s, “It Takes a Long Time” was released independently in March of 2014 and JAE Trio released their first full length “Push Pull” in Feb of 2015 under the tutelage of jazz engineer Tom Tedesco in Paramus NJ. It has international buzz and can be found on CD Baby, I Tunes, Amazon, Rhapsody etc.
Wirehound released “Anatomy of a Thought Undone” in 2022 at Cocoon Studios and Reddish reformed his father’s “The Reddish Fetish” to record with Corey Zack at Cocoon. Zack has been Reddish’s muse and lots of great music is coming out of Jersey City. He’s also been out on tour with Blues Hall of Fame Legend Regina Bonelli.
Inspired by Master Michael Carvin, Reddish is about to finish his first full length record as a band leader. The Reddish Fetish is due to release “Llegar” in February 2025; as a tribute to Bill Reddish’s original “Reddish Fetish”. The record will be a Jazz EP with the Jersey City all-stars, a great line up of NY, NJs greatest local musicians. Acclaimed artist, “J Hacha De Zola” (whom Reddish plays with) will make an appearance along with Hot Sardines Sax player Ben Golder-Novick, Fuse Patrol’s Roy Suter, Indofunk Satish, Ian Kenselaar, Yogui Rosario, Sean David Cunningham, and NY Blues Hall of Famer Jason Green.
Jason had the privilege of studying piano with friend and producer Sam Barsh and is currently continuing his studies with jazz piano great Andrzej Winnicki. He is currently a student of the Michael Carvin School of Drumming and studies with Master Michael Carvin. When I asked him about continuing with his studies after decades of successfully playing, his answer to me was “The more I learn, the more I realize I have to learn, so I am a humble student of music and life, for life.”
He is also a successful businessman and TV and Radio personality, currently appearing on various TV and Radio financial related segments and was also featured on the Emmy Award Nominated Shark Tank in late 2013.
